Combination gauge Glass & Magnetic Level Indicator In a Single Unit
Features & Benefits
- Meets ASME, Boiler Code (PG.60) for "Water Level Indicators" on the boiler drum
- Combines armored sight glass and magnetic level gauge in one easy-to-install package
- Allows drum level to be seen from more than 100 feet away
- Optional switches and transmitters mount directly to gauge chamber (non-invasive)
- Reduces costly sight glass maintenance
Description
ISE/Magtech has made Boiler Drum Level measurement safe and reliable with the "DRUMSITE" level indicator. "DRUMSITE" combines the safety and convenience of a magnetic level indicator with an integrally mounted gauge glass as required by ASME Boiler Code (PG.60).
Easily installed, the magnetic level gauge is attached directly to the drum and becomes the "water column" for the sight glass which is attached via gauge cocks or block valves. This provides a highly visible drum level reading from more than 100 feet and eliminates costly maintenance on pressurized gauge glasses while still conforming to ASME code.
In addition to the above features, alarms and 4-20 mA transmitters can be added to the gauge chamber without further penetrations to the drum or vessel. Both electronic and pneumatic alarm switches are available.
Other options include flipper style indicators, negative/positive scales, heat tracing and more.

Principle of Operation
The Drumsite Level Indicator is designed for (though not limited to) a boiler drum producing steam. The unit consists of a magnetic liquid level gauge with an integrally mounted sight glass. The magnetic level gauge consists of a float chamber made of non-magnetic materials, such as stainless steel, a float containing a magnet assembly and an external magnetic indicator.
The sight glass is attached to a float chamber via gauge cocks or block valves allowing it to be blocked off after boiler start up. As the float rises and falls with the liquid level inside the float chamber, the magnetic indicator on the outside of the chamber wall, rises and falls with the float thus indicating the level therein. The externally mounted sight glass is provided to give positive verification of the liquid level in the drum, especially during start up. Drumsite also provides drum level while maintenance is being performed on the sight glass.
